Happy New Year !!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERY BODY !

I wish you health and prosperity in this year.

I went into the vintage shop Rags A GO GO (218 W. 14st. of from 7th Avenue) to say hi to the owner of the store. This is how our first conversation for the New Year went .

The store owner : "This year is going to be a good year. Do you know why?

Me: Oh , I know, the numerology numbers for the New Year 1-1 -11

The store owner : No, that's not the reason.

Me: What is ?

The store owner: You are going to see many changes in this country because the 2012 elections are coming up and the politicians are going to work very hard to pass as many laws and policies as possible. They want to please the American public. They want votes.

I thought that was funny.
I look forward to shopping and having more interesting conversations .

I was out and about at Washington Square Park. I hoping for more brighter day light to take pictures

I was looking at the architect designs on several buildings on Greenwich street. I notice this beautiful vine that grew on the whole side of one of the buildings. It was winter yet this vine had moist berries. How encouraging to know that Winter will always turn into spring.

For the New Year, I'm keeping one of Victoria Boutenko books"12 steps to Raw Foods" (How to End Your Dependency on Cooked Food) in my bag when I pass by something tempting as hot cocoa. I had to take a picture of the design in the milk-cream. This is an art form. I will tittle this - "NEW LEAF GROWING for 2011". Now to create a Raw Hot Chocolate version would be fantastic.

From the "Raw Foods " Victoria Boutenko book I prepared these "live Garden burgers".
Very tasty.

LIVE GARDEN BURGERS
Grind 1 pound of your favorite nuts or seeds in a food processor. Remove ground nuts to a bowl. Then combine the following ingredients and grind in a food processor.
1 pound carrots (or carrot pulp left after juicing carrots)
1 medium onion
1 tablespoon sweetener (agave nectar, dates, or raisins)
1 tablespoon oil
1-2 tablespoon poultry seasoning ( or herb seasoning)
Celtic sea salt to taste (optional)

If the mixture is not firm enough, add one or two of the following thickeners: dried dill weed, dried garlic, dried onion, dried parsley, ground flax seeds.
Form into balls, cutlets, or fillets and sprinkle with paprika shortly before serving.
Note: If you want "fish" burgers, add seaweed (dulse, kelp, or other seaweed) to the mixture.
Enjoy!
