The Orange

Hello Every one

This is one of the many fruits I take for granted. I eat one almost every morning for my vitamin C. As a child I heard Oranges protected the sailors on long voyages from scurvy and they came from Florida. I really don't know much about this brightly colored circled fruit. Here's some interesting facts I read.
As early as 500 B.C. the fruit was mentioned in an collection of old dcoucments believed to be edited by Confucius himself. Oranges were originally brought from China to India, and gradually spread over the entire world where the climate was mild enough for their cultivation. The original orange was very small and full of seeds. The years of cross fertilization and selection, there are now two hundred varieties of oranges grown.
The orange is best for it's water soluble vitamin C. It helps in the retention of calcium in the body. We know it is and excellent food for children. Good for treating overacid body conditions, constipation and a sluggish intestinal tract. A lack of vitamin C can contribute to poor gums.

thank for reading.
